Meet the Unforeseen Visions Team
My name is Lucky L. Oligie. I am the founder and executive director of Unforeseen Visions Inc. My life in many ways, has been influenced by my love for soccer. As a child, I gravitated to the sport in order to spend quality time with my friends, but more importantly, to experience a level of independence, self-expression, and culture. Part of my childhood was spent in the DC Metropolitan area where violence was a daily occurrence and the probability of hearing neighborhood gunfire was high. Therefore, my parents restricted many outside activities and instead emphasized the importance of education.
Once my family moved to a safer place, I knew it was time to spread my wings and get acquainted with people who shared my interest in soccer. Once I formed friendships with the neighborhood children, the doors to the soccer world unfolded. I made life-long friends, was able to play more often, and was asked to be a part of a local team.
Like many teenagers, I experienced hardships that could have been difficult to handle if soccer was not a part of my life. This sport became an outlet for me and helped me cope with the demands of school and the pressure from my parents to succeed. After graduating from high school, I became a father and although this was a big responsibility, soccer provided the rest and recovery I needed to continue to work towards my goals.
The connections and friendships I have built while playing this sport have positively touched my life. I was featured on various news stations, I have been able to travel the world with all expenses paid, and I graduated All-American from college. Throughout this time, my parents realized the gift I had for playing soccer and their resistance turned into support.
Understanding the power and influence soccer had on my life, I was ready to embark on the journey to impact others. I desired to create a program that would mold, guide, and educate young soccer lovers, essentially, providing a blueprint on how to effectively navigate education, finances, career choices, and the sport in order to avoid the pitfalls I experienced while growing up.
To confirm my goals, I saw the word “vision” and the word “4seen" on two different license plates while I was driving one day. This occurrence did not appear to be coincidental, therefore I knew it was time to make my dreams come to life and Unforeseen Visions was born.
I am Raphel Adenola. I am the cofounder, program director of Unforeseen Visions Incorporated. I am dedicated to being an effective leader and sound decision-maker for the purpose of educating and elevating under-resourced communities in the DMV area. I have extensive knowledge in serving under-privileged youth and understand the importance of creating initiatives that will positively impact their present circumstances and future endeavors. My responsibilities include assisting in our seasonal Food/Back To School drives in order to aid children with school-related supplies and supervising the soccer clinics, camps, and field day events. It is an honor to give back because I know I am making a lasting and positive impact on our children, their families, and therefore, the community.
I Mugniu Dipo Almaroof is the Program Director of Unforeseen Visions Incorporated. My role within this organization consists of maintaining detailed records of meetings, funding, expenses, budgets, and monetary contributions, which includes tracking fundraising goals and providing accurate financial documentation. I am also the head of the Educational Division which offers guidance on high school and college through various seminars and workshops. Specifically, these seminars focus on NCAA eligibility, scholarship applications, resume-building, and internship opportunities. In addition, I oversee the educational and volunteer work partnerships that enable our organization to connect with supportive people in the community who want to make a difference in a child's life. I understand that my duties contribute to this organization's ability to help others in need and it is a pleasure knowing my commitment positively influences the children we serve.
